November 20th, 2018 will truly be a day I will never forget. That is the day that I had a very special tour that led up to visiting Walt’s apartment above the fire station on Main Street U.S.A. Walt Disney had a secret apartment so he could be close to the magic and oversee everything. He would also host guests and his seven grandchildren in that apartment as well.
Walk in Walt’s Footsteps is a walking tour that lasts three hours and a lunch break for thirty minutes. So give yourself about four hours blocked out for the tour alone. The tour includes an audio piece and you can follow along while your experienced and passionate tour guide will share a lot of information on Walt’s and Disneyland’s history. If you purchase this tour it will include lunch, one dessert, and a drink of your choice. You will also receive a pin that is really well made and something you can cherish forever.
The turkey sandwich with the house made chips that Alyssa had. I had the caprese sandwich with the house made chips that are sold at the Jolly Holiday. I have also include a photo of the menu so you know your options before hand. Here is a picture of the pin you receive. It opens up where you can read one of Walts famous quotes. “To All Who Come to This Place Welcome. Disneyland is your land”. Everyday while entering Disneyland we pass by this fire station most of us knowing that it is not only a photo opportunity on Main Street but that right above this station is where Walt spent a lot of his time drafting ideas, making memories, and watching his dream of Disneyland come to life everyday. In this photo I am standing right next to Walt’s pull out couch and I will never forget being in that apartment.
Walking in Walt’s footsteps is an experience I will never forget. I will never look at Main Street the same and I am grateful to have learned more about Walt and all of his dreams and aspirations he wanted for the world. I highly recommend any fan to take this tour. AP and CM discount are available. The tour times include 9:00am & 11:30am.
